Privacy Policy

(“PBG Cannabis”) and affiliated companies (“Company”) are committed to protecting the personal information of our employees, customers, patients, physicians, and other stakeholders (“Customers”). We manage Customers’ personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (“PIPA”) and other applicable laws. This Privacy Policy outlines the policies and procedures we follow to protect Customers’ personal information provided to us.
Personal Information
Personal Information means any information about an identifiable individual as set out in PIPA. It may include the contact information, name, address, phone number, email address, gender, date of birth, identification number, medical records, financial information, and any other personal data.
Personal Information We May Collect
The Company only collects the personal information that is necessary for the purposes for which the personal information is collected depending on the nature and circumstances of interactions between the Company and the Customers. The following are an incomplete list of personal information we may collect:
- contact and identification information, including name, home address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, gender, family status;
- criminal background check(s);
- employment information, including resume, references and background verification information, Social Insurance Number or other required government issued identification, and information related to enrollment in health benefit plans;
- financial information, including credit cards, bank accounts, and payment information;
- health care information, including health card number, any relevant diagnosis or primary condition, health history, health status, insurance coverage if applicable;
- information regarding the products or services provided; and
- usage data with respect to access to the Company’s website(s) which may include the IT environment utilized by the Customers as well as the preferences indicated.
- Unless specified otherwise, all personal information requested by the Company are mandatory in order for the Company to provide its services to the Customers and to meet regulatory requirements. Failure to provide such personal Information may affect the ability for Customers to utilize the Company’s services. However, The Company may also collect personal information for the purpose of enhancing Customers’ experience with the Company, for which providing the personal information is optional and the Customers are free to decide whether or not to provide such optional personal information. We inform our Customers, before or at the time of collecting personal information, of the purposes for which we are collecting the information and whether it is optional.
The Company will typically collect personal information directly from you. We may request personal information for the purposes of setting up an account with the Company for us to provide services to you, or for the purposes of providing information to you such as newsletters or other email messages containing information of commercial or promotional nature.
Sometimes we may collect personal information from a third party, such as physicians who provide the Company with complete medical documents on your behalf. In those cases, we will ask for your consent for the personal information and take reasonable steps to ensure that the third party has represented to us that it has the right to disclose your personal information to us.
Consent with respect to Personal Information
We ask for consent to collect, use or disclose Customers’ personal information, except in specific circumstances where collection, use or disclosure without consent is authorized or required by law. Your consent may be implied, deemed or express. Implied consent can be reasonably inferred from your action (e.g. make a payment) or inaction (e.g. not opt out). Express consent can be given orally, electronically or in writing. We will obtain your consent before collecting, using or disclosing your personal information for new purposes unrelated to your prior consent.
You may withdraw consent to the use and disclosure of personal information at any time, unless the personal information is necessary for us to fulfill our legal obligations. We will respect your decision, but we may not be able to provide you with certain services if we do not have the necessary personal information.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately so we can obtain parental consent or remove the information.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
We use and disclose Customers’ personal information only for the purposes for which the information was collected, which may include, but not limited to, providing the Company’s services, distributing marketing communications, responding to comments and questions, providing support to Customers, enhancing Customers’ experiences, and, from time to time, conducting medical and academic research.
We may share your personal information with our employees, contractors, consultants, affiliates and other parties who require such information to assist the Company with managing our relationship with you, including third parties that provide services to us or on our behalf, or use your personal information in the normal course of our business, including business combinations, joint ventures or sales. If a party is granted access to your personal information, that party only have access on a confidential basis to the extent necessary to perform its functions in a manner consistent with the use and disclosure provisions of this policy. The Company shall not otherwise disclose personal information to third parties for commercial or other reasons, except as may be specifically required to comply with applicable laws or with your consent.
We will not collect personal identifiable information for access to our websites or Apps unless you set up online accounts with the Company; however, we may use cookies or other technologies to collect and store certain personal information, such as the IP addresses, operating systems, and usage data on our websites and Apps, to enhance Customers’ experience. The information thus collected are generally anonymous statistical data that are kept separately from personal identifiable information. You can set your web browser to block cookies if preferred.
Our websites or Apps may include links to websites of our business partners, vendors and advertisers. Except as provided herein, we will not provide any of your personal information to these third parties without your prior consent. Those links are provided for your convenience only, and you are advised to confirm their privacy policies before access.
Protect Personal Information
The Company is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of all personal Information in a manner appropriate for the sensitivity of the information, and makes every reasonable effort to prevent any loss, misuse or disclosure of or unauthorized access to personal information. We ensure that accesses to personal information are necessary and on confidential basis and protect personal information using up-to-date safe-keeping procedures and technologies.
We retain Customers’ personal information only as long as is reasonable to fulfill the purposes for which the information was collected or for legal or business reasons, and render personal information non-identifiable or destroy records of personal information that is no longer needed. We use appropriate security measures when destroying Customers’ personal information, including shredding paper records and permanently deleting electronic records.
We will notify the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, without delay, of a security breach affecting personal information if it creates a real risk of significant harm to Customers.
Customers’ Rights with respect to Personal Information
Customers may exercise certain rights regarding their personal information in the possession of the Company, including:
- Withdrawing consent at any time: Customers have the right to withdraw consent previously given with respect to the collection, use, or disclosure of their personal information;
- Accessing to their own personal information: Customers are entitled, with certain legal restrictions, to access and review their own personal information in a record in the possession of the Company. The Company reserves the right to refuse access to personal information in circumstances permitted by laws, including where providing access would reveal personal information about a third party, reveal confidential business information, or the personal information be subject to privilege;
- Requesting corrections to personal information: Corrections will be made within a reasonable timeframe;
- Restricting the processing of their personal information: Customers can, under certain circumstances, request how their personal information may be processed by the Company, including objecting their personal information being processed on a basis other than consent, limiting the use and disclosure of their personal information, or having their personal information removed or transferred.
- Filing a complaint: Customers have the right to file a compliant with the Company or before a competent data protection authority with respect to your personal information being handled by the Company.
